It was working during part of the bench test and then went out. The light bulb for the Red indicator (Transmit) works fine.
A fairly rare microphone due to its solid steel casing. I verified the unit transmits and receives. I could not measure the transmit power level. After removing the covers, I noticed that one of the transmitter vacuum tubes is missing.
It did not prevent the unit from transmitting. Per the service manual, the missing tube was used for Freq #2 (oscillator #2). Unit was originally a 2 frequency mobile. The data on the inside top cover shows the original frequencies. The unit was converted to a new frequency and the second tube was removed.
Unit was manufactured in Chicago IL in 1960. NOTE: A Speaker is not included.
